Rise Komura
The initial inspiration for opening this inn came from my experience at the University of Michigan in the United States in 2021. At an event organized by the local Japanese Student Association, a group dedicated to enjoying Japanese culture, an astonishing 200 new students participated. Many expressed their dreams of visiting Japan, and I was deeply moved by their passion for Japanese culture.
Upon returning to Japan, I realized that my hometown, Nishio, is full of Japanese attractions, including traditional foods like matcha and eel, and the picturesque streets of Little Kyoto. This realization sparked my desire to provide enjoyable experiences for visitors from overseas in Nishio.
After gaining valuable experience at Hoshino Resorts, I decided to open my own inn, thanks to the enthusiastic support of the city government and a chance encounter with a charming vacant house!

Making Mini Tatami Mat
You can experience making stylish small tatami mats at Sakakibara Tatami-Ten, a long-established shop founded in the Meiji era! Craftsmen will teach you about the history and depth of tatami! Advance reservation is required for the experience of making mini tatami mat.

About Nishio City
Tired of crowded tourist destinations?
Then why not come to Nishio?
If you fold a map of Japan in half, Nishio is right in the middle. Only 50 minutes by train from Nagoya Station, Nishio is famous for its matcha green tea and eel cuisine.
Nishio, knows as “Little Kyoto of Mikawa” boasts traditional buildings and an old townscape that seems to have slipped back in time.
It is a place where there are not as many tourists as in Tokyo, Kyoto, or Osaka, and you can have the lovely scenery all to yourself.
