Nishio City Tourist Attractions

Junkai-machi Dori
This is the best photo spot in Nishio, the little Kyoto of Mikawa. The street between the two historic temples, Yuiho-ji and Sogaku-ji, will make you feel like you have stepped back in time.

Miso Park "Hatoya"
A historic soybean miso and white soy sauce brewery established in the Edo period, the Misomaru Miso Museum has been in use for over 100 years and offers tours of the miso warehouse and a miso-maru experience!

Nishio Castle Ruins
The castle is a symbol of Nishio, and is said to have been built by the Ashikaga family in recognition of their achievements during the Jokyu Rebellion of 1221. Vassals of Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu once served as the lord of the castle.

Japanese garden "Shokoso"
This Kyoto-style garden was created by rice merchant Meizaburo Iwasaki in the early Showa period. The autumn foliage is especially impressive.

Nishio City Iwase Archives
This is the first antiquarian book museum in Japan. There are many interesting works, such as UFO images painted in the Edo period, and you can hold in your hands rare documents such as "The Pillow Book," which was featured in NHK's 2024 historical drama "Hikaru Kimi he" travelogue.

Matcha Museum Saijoen WAKUWAKU
This hands-on museum allows visitors to experience matcha in a new and fascinating way through exciting matcha experiences and a tour of the production process.

Aoi Seicha
The aroma of tea in the air is a breathtaking sight as more than 120 millstones are rotated in unison.

Inariyama Tea Garden Park

Nishio Onsen Sanoyu
